On November 7-8, staff members and their families, the Hershey entities involved with Project Fellowship, parents/sponsors visiting during Parent Weekend, and alumni and their families participate in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life 24-hour event at Henry Hershey Field to honor Senior Chloe Mellott, who is battling cancer. More than $25,000 is raised at the 24-hour walk, which had 5,000 participants. Sadly, Mellott passed away November 26.

MHS's annual weeklong celebration of its founding includes the November 10 unveiling of a new portrait of Milton and Catherine Hershey by noted portrait artist Bob Anderson.

President Johnny O'Brien '61 announces his retirement, effective July 31, 2009, during the November 14 assembly to announce the winner of the Spartan Peace Prize. Senior Julie Malave becomes the fifth recipient of the prestigious Peace Prize award.

Reduce, recycle, and reuse is the key message at the first Environmental Stewardship Fair held November 14 in the Founders Hall Rotunda with participation from more than 500 students, staff, and adults from the community.
