- After a yearlong review, including a three-day onsite visit by 30 educators, the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools (PAIS) re-accredits Milton Hershey School. PAIS evaluators review a school's program in accordance with state standards for independent schools. The accreditation process ensures that private schools meet and maintain specific standards of excellence.
- MHS Vice President of Student Life Peter Gurt '85 receives the 2009 Administrator of the Year at the Coalition of Residential Education (CORE) National Conference on March 2.
- Duff Goldman, the Food Network's "Ace of Cakes" master baker, presents a special cake to Milton Hershey School to celebrate its upcoming centennial. The presentation is filmed March 12 in the Founders Hall Rotunda, with 100 elementary school students on hand to sample the creation.
