  • "Living the Legacy: The Untold Story of Milton Hershey School" the Centennial documentary by Academy AwardŽ-winning director Cynthia Wade, makes its campus debut with two showings for the MHS community on August 15. The film chronicles a year in the life of two families who are new to the School community and captures the realities faced as children leave home for life on the MHS campus, including the emotional struggles and conflict. The result is an honest look at the journey parents, students, and alumni take on the road to building better lives through Mr. and Mrs. Hershey's extraordinary gift.
  • MHS community begins the Centennial year August 16 with a day of community service that honors Mr. & Mrs. Hershey's legacy of giving. Some 2,000 students, their houseparents, MHS staff, and alumni fan out to more than 20 sites across Lancaster, Lebanon, and Dauphin counties to volunteer their time and energy to everything from cleaning up parks to visiting nursing homes.
  • A new statue honoring Catherine Hershey, which is located in Catherine Hall, and the Centennial Mural, which is installed in the Copenhaver Center walkway, are unveiled during the Opening of School All-School Assembly.
