Milton Hershey School announces that it will not continue with renovations to the School's original Health Center, due to serious structural problems. The building first opened in March 1933 and served as the Hershey Hospital. A new Health Center, located adjacent to the original building, opened in July 2008.

On April 14, Dauphin County Emergency Management, Homeland Security, and Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA), in coordination with MHS Safety & Security, conduct a drill of the School's evacuation plan.

Renovation to areas of the Visitors Center in Founders Hall begins April 21. The updated areas will include displays on the School, its history, and alumni. More than 50,000 people tour Founders Hall annually.
