  1. Opening of School Celebration

    August 16, 2009

    Day of Service – 9:00 AM-2:00 PM

    We think the best way to pay tribute to Milton and Catherine Hershey’s legacy of giving is to give. MHS students, houseparents, staff, and alumni will spend the morning serving others in Dauphin, Lancaster, and Lebanon counties. They will then unite on campus for a special Chapel Service and a School picnic.

  3. “Milton Hershey School Centennial Mural” by Jared Bader

    August 17, 2009

    We’ll unveil a 45-panel mural depicting all 100 years of the School’s history of serving children in need. Over 1,000 students, staff, and alumni participated in this community mural created by Philadelphia Mural Arts Program Artist Jared Bader.

  4. Catherine Hershey Sculpture Unveiling

    August 17, 2009

    To honor Catherine’s role in the founding of this remarkable home and school, we commissioned noted sculptor David Daniels to create a statue of Catherine Hershey. “Kitty” will stand in the ceremonial entrance of the Catherine Hall middle school building, formerly Old Senior Hall.

    Our annual Homecoming Weekend will conclude with a party in honor of Mr. Hershey’s birthday, reminiscent of the 1930s celebrations at the Hersheypark Arena. The program will feature some of our most talented alumni entertainers, including April Hall ’88 and James Longacre ’67 in addition to performances by our students and the Hershey Symphony Orchestra.

  7. National TV Documentary sneak preview

    Experience a year in the lives of Milton Hershey School students in this documentary film, "Living the Legacy: The Untold Story of Milton Hershey School," set to air on the Sundance Channel and Independent Film Channel (ICF) this fall.

  8. Mini-Open House: Founders Hall, Dearden House, and The Homestead

    Special tours of the School's Dearden House, The Homestead, and Founders Hall Visitors Center

    On September 26 between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM, visit Milton Hershey School's Founders Hall to register for the chance to win two free tickets to a special private concert by American Idol winner Jordin Sparks. No purchase necessary to enter or win. Only legal residents of the United States, 18 or older are eligible to enter.

  9. Founders Week

    November 9-13, 2009

    Founders Keepers Trivia Tournament – All Milton Hershey School students will test their knowledge of School history during this school-wide tournament. The final competitions will be broadcast on the campus closed-circuit television channel.

  10. Founders Week All-School Assembly

    Deed of Trust Unveiling – We’ve completely restored the original Deed of Trust document. The Deed, in its protective case, will be on display in Founders Hall.

  11. Jordin Sparks Concert at Giant® Center

    November 12, 2009
    7:00 PM

    This event is a private function for Milton Hershey School students, staff, and alumni, however, 100 member of the general public will each win two (2) tickets. Visit Founders Hall on September 26, 2009 between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM to register for the chance to win free tickets.

  12. Holiday Noontime Concerts in Founders Hall (Public Event)

    Don’t miss our annual weeklong concert series. MHS student musicians and vocalists will surely knock your stockings off!

  13. Family Weekend

    May 7-9, 2010

    Family weekend is always held on Mother's Day. This celebration will highlight Catherine (Kitty) Hershey, and celebrate her role, since Milton always said, "It was Kitty's idea."

    Professional playwright Barry Kornheiser collaborated with MHS performing arts students and faculty to create an original show. Experience the School’s history through this collection of entertaining vignettes performed by students of all ages.

  17. Youth in Poverty Symposium

    MHS is looking toward the next century of helping children in need by partnering with America’s Promise to host a national symposium. We’ll bring together thought leaders, professionals, and students to share information on issues surrounding youth in poverty.
